We have enough "suxon" and "kurdicks" as it is, so it still happens. Now people will have an emote to go along with their textual taunts.

What I don't get is, they say the emote is to "finish off your enemy", does that mean the emote does damage to enemies? Or is more of a gloat?

I just can't wait to show all those people I kill in my numerous PvP adventures that I am better than them by ranking them twice! Then they'll think twice before facing me!

I find it funny that a community as rude as gw's still has the nerve to complain when they are treated rudely. You can be rude to others but no one should be rude to you? being a scumbag is a trend on this game, One I have been amazed at for years. I find this very amusing.
As I'v always said, the game is filled with unsupervised children and disfunctional adults. Hence why I don't pvp and I don't party with people. H/H solo ftw!
These emotes are nothing new, just another way to express immaturity. Good sportsmanship does not exists anymore.

Yet another reason Offline gaming will always be better than online gaming.

To be clear, I have nothing against new ingame emote, but the way of ANet's introduction of new emote is very rude to me. It degrades my current thoughts/vision about ANet as company.
For me it is really bad PR.

Urban legend.
I remember about 2 years ago people were always joking about how if you rank someone's corpse you lose 100 fame.
I don't know if anet ever had an official stance on ranking corpses, but they certainly don't seem very serious about it now. I mean, come on, charr in EotN rank your corpses! I found that hilarious. Anet obviously picked up on the "in-game culture" and made a joke about it. And from there it's not far to actually embracing the trend and using it to promote the new emotes.
IMO people are way too touchy about this.

Ya.. very bad part on Anet for this. Plus the 3 weapons falling looks horrible. I'd like it better if it was just one.
I guess it also shows how Anet doesnt see what everyone QQs about. Didnt the majority of people say no more titles? Or at least no more money sink titles?? And everythign i've seen on Guru says no more emotes.
Very very bad on Anet's part.

I think that if they isolated the emote use to towns, guild halls and in PvE explorable areas, it wouldn't be a big deal.
Rubbing salt in a defeated PvP player's wound doesn't sound very mature, eh?

It seems like Anet is screwing up more and more lately. They become popular by making a model that was different from other games. Then they just keep putting in annoying crap like this that bring them back down to the general level of refuse found everywhere else.
I'm loosing faith that GW2 will be any good.

Well you can 'spear' your Tiger now ... and by that getting forgiveness for unsportsmanlike ranking ...
Seriously the only new emote should have been for the Champion title ...
But have fun with it guys ... thats what a game is supposed to be.

Maybe aneters read the garbage posted on this site about them and took offense? Maybe they are determinded to teach us to shut our mouths and stop complaining, or they will only make it worse. Just a theory. But maybe they want us to be happy with what we get. I doubt it, but you never know. I mean some of the mods here changed their rank/sigs to be quite offensive. People are retarded is very offensive since mentally challenged people cant control their problems, but stupid people choose to be stupid.
Personally I think its almost time for me to retire from online gaming all together, I think I'm getting to old to find the humor in the newer generations insulting jokes. It seems ok for some people to be complete jerks but not others. At 29 yrs old I didnt think I was THAT old...
I doubt this will stay up very long since it meantions a mod. But its the truth.

Maybe they just wanted the PvE'ers to have a /rank that they can use against the /rank'ing Charr in EotN?
I hope this stuff is just so bad cause they are way to busy making GW2 uber good...
